SAICA & THIMM: Closing completed

• Thimm Group becomes part of Saica Group, strengthening its European market position through complementary locations and shared values.
• Saica Group now begins the integration process of the former Thimm sites.

Saica Group and Thimm Group announce that the acquisition of Thimm by Saica, which was announced in May 2026, has been successfully completed. The European Commission approved the transaction on 24 July 2026. Following this approval, the transaction was completed through the closing process, making the acquisition legally effective and officially integrating Thimm Group into Saica Group.

Now that the closing has been completed, the Thimm Group's sites in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania – which employ nearly 2,500 people – have been transferred to the Saica Group. All plants will remain operational. They Saica and Thimm have been working together in a strategic sales alliance since the late 1990s and also operate a joint venture in Poland. Through the acquisition, the Zaragoza-based company further expands its presence in Central and Eastern Europe and strengthens its position in the European packaging market.

As part of the transaction, the Thimm family will withdraw from the business. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
